I have been a Detroit-based lawyer for more than 30 years, representing both individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants in court in several areas of the law, including business and contract law, collections, real estate and family law. I serve as mediator, facilitator, case evaluator and arbitrator through the Oakland County Circuit Court, the American Arbitration Association and the Oakland County Mediation Center. I've also served as a magistrate in the 52-1 District Court in the City of Troy.
In the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory of attorneys where attorneys rate their peers, I am AV rated, the highest rating by this organization. In 2015, I was selected as a "Super Lawyer," an honor that only 5 percent of attorneys receive. Previously, I was named as one of the top lawyers in family law in "dBusiness," a Detroit business journal.
I am a member of the State Bar of Michigan, in the Family Law Section. I am a past member of the Character and Fitness Committee for the State Bar of Michigan. I also belong to the Oakland County Bar Association having previously chaired the Public Service Projects for this association. I am the past president of the Board of Trustees for the Oakland Mediation Center and served as its president for four years. Previously, I was President of the Board for Families of Children from China – Metro Detroit. I also currently serve on the board of The Anglers of the Au Sable, as vice president as well as chair of its fundraising committee. I have previously served as a master (the highest level) in the Inn of Court of the Oakland County Bar Association, an organization dedicated to the improvement of legal advocacy among attorneys and I have served on the Public Advisory Committee on Judicial Candidates. I have also served on the Advisory Board for the American Arbitration Association. I have completed the Family Law Certificate Program through the Institute of Continuing Education.
As a lawyer, I strive to give each client the best legal representation and advice possible in the most economical manner. One of the most satisfying aspects of being a lawyer is having a client feel that he or she received excellent representation and support throughout the legal journey. If through the process of mediation/facilitation we can preserve a client's business relationship with the other party, then the legal system is truly operating in the manner in which it was intended. We strive for rapid and complete resolution of legal matters for our clients.
