Wills and Trusts

  • What it is:
    • As Benjamin Franklin once said, "there are only two things certain in life: death and taxes.” Wills and trusts address both of these certainties. In the course of one’s life, a person has gathered important treasures around them: loved ones, valuable possessions, property and the like. Properly drafted wills and trusts enable an individual to see that his/her loved ones are properly taken care of and that his/her estate is distributed according to his/her wishes. Minimizing estate taxes is also part of this process. A proper estate plan can include a will and trust as well as the sometimes overlooked durable power of attorney and a medical directive. If Benjamin Franklin were alive today, he would be a probate attorney.
  • What we do:
    • We help enable a client to memorialize his/her wishes in a sensible, sensitive and tax efficient matter. We aim to demonstrate care and respect for our many clients, from the single person to those just starting a family to those with college-bound children, as well as to the special needs of our senior population.
